Portugal is known for its scenic beaches, great food, and beautiful people, but what about heart pounding, skin crawling, earth shaking dubstep? If you have no idea what I’m referring to, then you clearly haven’t heard Karetus. Karetus dropped their Entrudo EP this week, and it did not disappoint. Pulling from just about every genre of electronic music possible, this heavy hitting EP will have your feet bleeding and your face melting before you reach the end of their first track. You may ask yourself: who’s behind these mind perplexing beats? It’s the combined forces of two Portuguese natives, André Reis and Carlos Silva. These two formed Karetus in 2010 and haven’t looked back since. Their debut single, “The Future is Now,” managed to climb the Beatport charts to the number 7 spot. Entrudo consists of five new tracks and encompasses genres such as electro house, glitch hop, and dubstep. Their multifaceted EP has one thing in common with a Michael Bay film—and, no, I don’t mean crazy robot noises—it’ll blow your mind!
